DENBURY Plunkett Communities
Our Campaigns
We’re passionate about supporting the vital local businesses that sit at the heart of our communities, weaving them together by offering vibrant places for people to connect with each other. The Denbury Charitable fund is incredibly proud to partner with the Plunkett Foundation to support community-run shops and pubs across East Anglia.
The Denbury Plunkett Communities Scheme offers free advice and support from the Plunkett Foundation’s network of advisors, and grants, to ensure the essential contribution of community shops and pubs is maintained for future generations.
Through our initial funding we supported businesses facing the short- and long-term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Helping them to find solutions to issues such as staffing; safety measures; and establishing new services such as home delivery or take-away.
These community-run businesses proved a lifeline to many during the pandemic and demonstrated the high value of local services. We are delighted to have extended the scheme with an additional £50,000 donation, allowing us to support these businesses as the country continues to recover from the effects of Covid-19.
Part of this additional funding will be ring-fenced to provide support specifically to those groups setting up or operating a community-run pub so that the local can remain at the heart of the village.
These businesses are at the very heart of our communities. This timely support from Denbury Homes and the Plunkett Foundation should help them face the challenges and grasp the opportunities of the future, and be the seed for economic and social recovery in our towns and villages.
