Inside Denbury: We welcomed Sales & Marketing Executive, Rianna Catling to our interview armchair!

Thank you for joining in and giving us a sneak peek at your role with Denbury Homes. How did you find your way into your role here at Denbury Homes?

I joined Denbury Homes at the fresh age of 18, just after completing my A-Levels, and I’ve been here ever since. My prior experience in retail prepared me well for a marketing role. Plus, my dad was part of the team, so I already had an understanding of the company.

I like to express my creative side, which also led me to this role. I’ve always enjoyed photography and Denbury Homes has been extremely supportive of my pursuits in this field.

Denbury truly does have family roots! Rumour has it that your dad completed an apprenticeship back in the ‘90s… is there anything similar in the pipeline for you?

Denbury Homes is very committed to the personal development of its team. I have recently completed an Award in Marketing from IDM! From the course to the team, I am always learning at Denbury Homes. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some extremely skilled colleagues and suppliers in my industry. My course validates the knowledge I’ve gained from these talented people, whilst also building my confidence.

What does a day in the life look like as the Sales & Marketing go-to at Denbury Homes?

No day is the same! Apart from my daily dog walk, of course. The variety and fact that each day brings something new is what I enjoy the most.

There are the usuals, like emails and meetings with the team. Some days, you might find me editing the website with new plots for sale, while on others, I’ll be getting hands-on setting up our stand at the glorious Suffolk Show.

As I mentioned earlier, I enjoy photography, and I get to regularly employ my skills in capturing images of homes and their interiors. When picturing my career, I always had a liking for interior design, so having the chance to blend these interests is exciting!

The Suffolk Show is always a special event. Does your role involve a lot of community work?

Absolutely! We get to meet so many people at occasions like that. Last summer, we had a luxurious hamper on offer, so people should keep an eye on our stand this year!

Working with Denbury Homes means being part of some fun initiatives. I’ve had the chance to build LEGO at an event to Get Suffolk Reading (Sara and I got a little too competitive!), as well as present the Greenfingers Awards with Bury in Bloom. Both of which Denbury Homes supported with grants and sponsorship.

There have been many more occasions where both Sara (Director of Sales and Marketing) and I have represented Denbury Homes. It’s incredibly rewarding and allows us to strengthen our relationships with the community, which is important to us.

On that note, what does the Denbury Difference mean to you?

It’s about the people we work with and the houses we build. We’re unique, not just in our homes, but in the close-knit community of individuals who contribute to Denbury’s success.

I love the people here and know that they will support me as I continue my studies and climb the career ladder.
