Denbury Homes team delivers Christmas collection for Gatehouse Foodbank

East Anglian housebuilder, Denbury Homes’ head office team shared a little Christmas cheer last week, delivering donations to Gatehouse Foodbank in Bury St Edmunds.

Staff donations of dried goods, tins and other seasonal and everyday items were matched by the company as they hope to ease some of the financial stress that Christmas can have on households struggling to keep up with bills.

Gatehouse, an independent charity, supports vulnerable people throughout East Anglia providing three days of emergency food to those in need. Amanda Bloomfield, CEO at Gatehouse said: “It’s been a tough year and we’ve seen a drop in donations as people prioritise their own households in the face of rising fuel and food costs. We are very grateful to Denbury Homes for their continued support. The donation is a significant amount of food and will help many households as we head into the festive period.”

Joshua Hopkins, Managing Director at Denbury Homes added: “It can be easy to get swept up in the excitement of Christmas. Collecting for Gatehouse has reminded us that there are households worrying about putting food on the table rather than about what is going under the tree. The team really got behind the appeal and I hope that our donations will ease some of that stress and help deliver a happier Christmas.”
